Well after a few weeks of dead air on here I thought I should catch you all up on the last few weeks and why I haven't been posting anything. We went on our annually summer trip to Kelowna, we soaked up some sun, filled our belly with peaches and plums right off of a tree, we took a little vacation while on our vacation and did many other things. It was a fun filled two and a half weeks and then when we got home we turned around and went camping a few days later! There is a mound of laundry on my bed the size of mount Everest that my kids have dubbed their climbing mountain, I think they will need oxygen to survive going up it!
While we were gone to the Okanagan, the very next day after we left there was a crazy hail storm that did some major damage to our home and to the vehicles that were around. We got a phone call from my father in law and immediately called insurance. Thankfully it has rolled pretty smoothly as to getting everything looked at and assessed. I was just so grateful my new Jeep was safe in BC from the crazy storms in Alberta. This summer has been not a very good one with hail and rain everyday here in Alberta. It was nice to get away to some warmer weather and to go play at a beach while soaking up a bit of sun.

On the way to Kelowna we finally decided to stop at one of the famous places to stop at and that was the D Ducthmen Dairy in Sicamous and got some ice cream. As a kid we would stop there once in awhile on our way to and from Alberta so I wanted to pass on that tradition to my little family.

While in BC we decided to head down to the coast to Vancouver to go visit my sister and her husband. Vancouver is only 4 hours from my parents and is a nice drive, I love how green and lush it gets down on the coast. On the first day we met up with my sister and then we went to White Rock to the ocean there and went looking for sea shells with the kids, we walked on the warf, ate some fish and chips and Olivia had her left over burger get stolen by a seagull. One of the funniest things was both the kids kept saying how the ocean smelt like garbage and poop, I couldn't stop laughing because it is true. The next day we decided to head over to Stanley Park and take the kids to the aquarium. They loved seeing all the animals and sea creatures, I always find that stuff so fascinating but also creepy, I don't like swimming in the ocean because of all the crazy things swimming in it. One of the main goals of visiting Vancouver was for my hubby to eat at Chipotle, he missed that food so much and Vancouver has two locations, it's an American restaurant and they are not located everywhere here so we had to eat there. We also visited Granville Island Public market, there was a really cool toy store there that had over 20 stores in it for kids. One store was toys only made out of wood, there was a cool candy shop and more stuff that was very unique. There was the farmers market where I could spend all day in, lots of freshly made breads, pastries, cured meats, artisan cheeses, gourmet hand crafted chocolates... like I said I could spend all day in there.

On our way back from the coast we stopped at Bridal Falls and hiked up the path to see them, It was beautiful and the kids were amazed by it.

While in Kelowna we ate at RauDZ again and once again we were left with very happy full bellies. That place just hits on the money every time, it is such an amazing restaurant. My parents like to watch the kids so Matt and I can go on dates while in town and we got to go see Suicide Squad at the newly renovated Famous Players there. They had full leather recliner seats!! That theater has ruined any other theater for me, I will never go to a crappy one again, that is how you go watch a movie!

One place we like to take the kids which was a hidden treasure for so long is the Kangaroo Creek farm in Winfield. This year they expanded and have this whole new large field that has tons of kangaroos, capybaras, lamas and goats running around. They have a pretty neat cage that has parrots and other birds in it and also little sugar gliders. It is a really cool experience because the kids actually get to interact with the animals and get to pet them and hold them, but they are in more of a natural habitat then behind a cage and bars. We really enjoyed taking them and will probably do it again next year.

So here is to the ending of a fun holiday season, we now head into the fall with Matt starting this morning with coaching football again for the season and Olivia starts preschool here in a few weeks, Colton is going to get more one on one time with me while Olivia is in preschool. Me well I am dreaming of crisper weather, boots, scarves, pumpkin flavoured everything and crunchy leaves on the ground.
Yum
