One of my favorite things to eat has got to be sandwiches, I have expressed my love towards these things many times. I especially love them when they are simple to put together but so tasty! One of my husbands favorites is Beef Dip sandwiches, there is something about dipping the bread filled with cheese and beef into the hot au jus, that is the French way of saying "with juice". There are so many wonderful versions of this sandwich all over the internet, but mine is a great one that you can throw together in the morning in the crock pot and go do your thing. This one I decided to use Club Houses slow cooker beef dip seasoning, in the past I have just used some beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, French onion soup mix and some salt and pepper. I saw this seasoning mix in the store and thought I would give it a try. It turned out way better then I thought and for those really in a hurry it is perfect for them to just throw it all together in the crock pot. You can find it in the seasoning isle of your grocery store, possibly closer to the instant gravy section. Beef Dip Sandwiches Ingredients: 1 - 4 to 5 pound beef roast, I just used a sirloin tip 1 package of Club House slow cooker beef dip seasoning 2 cups of water salt and pepper 8 slices of Provolone cheese mayonnaise hoagie buns or rolls, or homemade buns Directions: Place your roast into your crock pot, dump in the seasoning package and pour in the water. Stir the seasoning so it dissolves into the water. Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 to 8 hours. If you are making your own buns start preparing the 1 1/2 hours before the roast is finished cooking, that way they will be nice and hot to help melt the cheese. If using store bought ones, preheat the oven to broil and then cut the buns in half width wise not cutting all the way through, spread with mayo on the inside and place the cheese on top. Broil for 1 minute or until slightly golden and the cheese is melted. When roast is finished cooking, slice it into thin pieces and place back into the juice for a minute. Remove the beef from the juice and place on top of the prepared buns, if using your own buns while they are hot cut in half width wise but don't cut all the way through, spread some mayo on each side, and place the cheese on the bun. The heat will help the cheese melt slightly while you are grabbing the meat, place the beef onto the buns and close it up and allow to sit for a minute to help melt the cheese. In small bowls pour the beef broth into them, place them on a plate with your prepared sandwiches and add some veggies or chips on the side. If you would like your cheese to melt a little bit more then you can either place it in the microwave for 2 minutes or in the oven at 350 for a few minutes. We had juices dripping down our arms and faces, they were so good! If you are looking for a simple quick bread to use to make buns this simple one hour bread is what I use and just form it into hoagie sized buns. This bread is so versatile and great for many different recipes! I love adding the mayo to the buns and my favorite cheese to use it Provolone, Swiss or Havarti is really good as well. I know some people love to put onions and caramelized onions on top as well. Like I always say change things however you would like and cater to your tastes! Happy cooking!
