First off is that slicing job in the picture not perfect! I am quite proud of it actually, I did it by hand and my inner OCD is very satisfied. This is the only picture I took so when I make the bread again I will add a few more pictures, I will make it again on Monday. After lots of thought I decided I am no longer buying bread in the store, maybe the stuff that I don't quite know how to make yet I will have to, but slowly I am knocking them off and am hoping I won't have to buy any bread again.

To me why would I spend the money on something with all the fillers and preservatives when I can make it with a few simple clean ingredients at home and it tastes better! Plus come on this bread makes perfect sandwiches, beautiful brown on the outside and the fluffy interior is the perfect combination for me.
The thing with whole wheat bread is that, so many recipes I have found super dense or if you don't want them dense you have to add vital wheat gluten. I don't have that stuff in my cupboard, ever, so my Dad told me just take some of the whole wheat flour and replace it with white flour. I didn't want to do that so I would have dense bread, until I found this recipe which has been a great recipe find! Plus it is super easy to do and if you have a bread machine then you are set to go. When I make this bread the smell drives us all nuts because you just want to devour it right away, really there is nothing better then going to bed with that smell filling the air.

Easy Whole Wheat Bread:

Ingredients:

1 cup plus 1 tablespoon of warm water
1 tablespoon of coconut oil (do not substitute this oil, trust me)
1 tablespoon of other oil (Canola, Olive, Sunflower, Etc)
2 tablespoons of honey
1 teaspoon of salt
3 cups of whole wheat flower
1 tablespoon of instant active dry yeast

Directions:

Put the ingredients in order into your bread machine, press the dough cycle. Watch the magic happen or go do something else (mine takes 90 minutes so I don't stand there and watch haha)

Grease a 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch bread pan, I like to line the bottom with parchment paper for easier release. When dough is finish shape and place in prepared pan. Cover with a tea towel and let rise in a warm place for 30-40 minutes.

Once it has risen, pre heat oven to 350F, Bake for 30 minutes. Watch and make sure it doesn't get too brown too fast. If it starts browning too quickly place some tinfoil on top to stop the browning.

Once done cool on a wire rack, slice up and enjoy!

*Note: You could totally make them into rolls/buns as well. You could also use a stand mixer if you do not have a bread machine, just follow the instructions of your stand mixer on how to make bread in it. The coconut oil seems to replace any kind of the added gluten of citric acid or other things you add to whole wheat bread to get it to be light and fluffy so that's why I say don't replace it.
